Then three

The third little landscape painting for the RAK swap....these tiny paintings will be out and about in the next couple of days....hoping someone will finds them and give them a new home to roost...

So sweet...

These roses were on my desk at work. The husband arrived to my workplace before me and left them with a little note. So sweet....just like my husband.

Hide

This is a quiet and sleepy landscape....and so am I....quiet and sleepy by the time this one was finished...

Seek

Above is a little landscape I am getting ready for my next swap. This time things are a bit different. The swap is referred to as a RAK---Random Art of Kindness. It works just like the Random Acts of Kindness that Oprah celebrates on her show...only this one focuses on leaving your piece of art in a random location for others to find and enjoy. My role, beyond the art part, is to document when and where the art was left...and hopefully wait for a response from the new patron upon its discovery.

Mi hermano

My brother is in the Army.
To me he is amazing...and an inspiration. At times I may be very anti-war, anti-government (thanks to a hippie conspiracy theorist father)....but I am very pro-brother. He joined last year at the age of 28 and went to boot camp with a bunch of young pups right out of high school. Since then he has become an officer, a tank commander, finished a type of leadership combat training, and is headed to Ranger School. When I was 28 I was finishing my last year of college and getting married to some goofy guy I met in sculpture class. This November I pray that my vote matters...that the man elected in to office cares about people like my brother. He has yet to see active duty...but I believe there is no better man to protect other soldiers and other civilians in a time of war than my brother. God to me is tricky thing...but I do pray for all those involved in our world with this messy war. I pray for my brother...that his tender heart, physical strength, and intelligence will serve our Army well.

My brother in his beret....his is for the army....mine is for the arts (see that little pic in my profile)...what a family...

My Brother is all the way on the right....the handsome dude sans hair. The other three men are friends of his. The one on the left I have known since his little league and pee-wee football days...

Micro Love

Dear Virgil: I love you. Your micro brewed soda is like something so wonderful. The amber glass bottle makes me feel so adult....the smooth taste, divine. Again, I love you.

Sweet

Sometime I just ponder why I go into work everyday. Why I care so much....work so hard. At two in the morning the husband and I wondered to the local big grocery store in search of nourishment. And though I am a big fan of house plants and potted flowers...I realized that my soul and confidence was in need of nourishment too...thus the very perky bouquet that followed us home.
